some favorite projects, collaborations, and clients past and present
“Awen and Eric bring an extraordinary level of expertise and care to their work. It’s not often that one finds a team with impeccable academic and publishing credentials who can function just as easily in the worlds of fiction, marketing, and communications.
The combination of attention to detail with their wide breadth of knowledge creates endless opportunities for finding new depth, connections, and relevance within assigned tasks.”
“I have had the pleasure of working with them through multiple drafts of three fictional world bibles that cover thousands of years of history, as well as complicated logistics and communications projects involving global sourcing, freight, and fulfillment. It’s rare to find people who can do creative writing and editing AND maintain tight schedules with complex dependencies that require absolute precision and reliability. Awen and Eric can do it.”
–Ben Dobyns, Founder and past CEO, The Fantasy Network and Zombie Orpheus Entertainment.
“RowanWood Writing Services has done an excellent job of distilling the heart of what my clients need and desire and has helped me communicate that clearly through website presentation, client surveys, staff bios and profiles, SEO, and copywriting.
I will definitely be utilizing them further in the future!”
–Erika Nelson, LICSW. Psychotherapist, Artist, and Owner of Portalis Mental Health.
“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Awen and Eric for 25 years, both personally and professionally. On both fronts they are delightful people: knowledgeable, prompt, and comprehensive in their work. Whether I need a quick Latin or Greek translation, or copyediting for 200,000+ word manuscript, they’re my go-to team.”
— Matt Vancil, Bearfoor Media. Filmmaker and author of The Gamers, JourneyQuest, Demon Hunters, The Fartherall World Bible, Orcish-English Dictionary, Pwned, The Fatal Frontier.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Eric on several projects — from coordinating content with multiple creative clients to collaborative efforts to stay-in-touch with users at The Fantasy Network. Eric is smart, easy to get along with, and attentive to details. He cares about creating messaging and content that keeps people connected. I look forward to opportunities to work with him again, and I recommend him to others!”
-Michele Chiappetta, StoryBrand Writer | Editor | Book Coach
“Eric Nelson was a welcome and much-needed voice in Rome: Engineering an Empire. He excels at getting to the root of a story, and telling it with energy and creativity on a level that even the casual observer can immediately understand.
He’s the antithesis of a stodgy, dry academic, so he was perfect for television. It was like he came right out of central casting.”
— Christopher Cassel, EP / Writer / Director
“I was really impressed with Eric’s contribution the Rome show and his ability to tell an engaging story. When I found out from my colleague Chris Cassel that Professor Nelson’s prodigious knowledge of Ancient Rome was equally matched by his expertise in Ancient Greece, I knew I wanted to include him in Greece: Engineering and Empire … I was very appreciative when Eric agreed to act as our historical consultant. Eric’s enthusiasm for the material has made working on the show a real pleasure.”

Why Rowanwood?
because Experience and Expertise Matter
Experience and expertise matter in achieving consistent high-quality results.
The fact is, different writing projects and purposes call for different styles and techniques in order to be effective. For this reason, you need copy and content writers and editors who understand those differences and who know how to use a range of techniques with language, tone, persuasion, and presentation to get you the results that you want.
However, whether it be friendly newsletters, helpful blog posts, persuasive direct email offers, clear and concise ebooks, or authoritative white papers, all of your communications need to coordinate and project your company’s distinct persona in order to resonate with your existing and potential customers.
Consequently, you need writers and editors who have the expertise and experience to work with you to develop and hone your distinctive company voice and to use it effectively to generate leads, increase conversions, cultivate relationships, and nurture repeat and loyal customers.
